A changing climate means that winters in Massachusetts are getting weird. Hear from some of Cambridge's sustainability experts on the ways climate change is affecting our winter weather -- and how to best prepare your home or apartment for colder weather while saving money. Commissioner Christine Elow and the Cambridge Police Department want to invite the community to two events scheduled next week: Coffee with a Cop Day on October 5 and Creating Connections, a community fair with Cambridge’s faith-based organizations on October 8.

Mayor Sumbul Siddiqui and City Manager Louis A. DePasquale today announced that the City has distributed $88,308 to Cambridge residents and families from the Mayor’s Disaster Relief Fund—just five days after the fund began accepting applications.

The agreement is intended to increase public contracting opportunities for minority-owned (MBEs), veteran-owned (VBEs), women-owned (WBEs), and other historically disadvantaged business enterprises.

People and pets should avoid contact with the Alewife Brook and parts of the Mystic River and the lower Charles River from May 23 to the early morning of May 25 due to the release of stormwater mixed with sewage into the brook and rivers.

With the Commonwealth's State of Emergency ending on June 15, 2021, the City will begin welcoming residents back in administrative buildings without appointments on Tuesday, June 15th.
