The City of Cambridge announced that, beginning Saturday, December 4, it is expanding its free COVID-19 testing program to five days per week. Through a new partnership with CIC Health, the City will launch a pilot appointment-only testing site by offering 300 appointments on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at CIC Health’s 295 Third Street location in Cambridge. In the coming weeks, the number of appointments at this pilot testing site will be expanded.

Cambridge Mayor Sumbul Siddiqui and City Manager Louis A. DePasquale today announced that the second phase of the Temporary Emergency Shelter at the War Memorial Recreation Center is scheduled to open on April 17. The Field House is an exclusive area at the shelter that will provide dining, daytime services and overnight shelter for Cambridge residents experiencing homelessness.

The deadline to apply for the next Civil Service exam to become a Cambridge Police Officer has been announced. The deadline to apply for the exam is January 28, 2025. The written examination is scheduled to take place between March 15, 2025 – March 22, 2025. All interested Cambridge residents are encouraged to apply by visiting www.cambridgepolice.org/joinCPD.
