The 2026 theme, Stories We Share: The Courage to Connect, is inspired by Welcoming America's Welcoming Week, reminds us that meaningful connections often begin by listening to and learning from one another. The goal of the STEAM Careers Exploration Program, offered through the Mayor's Summer Youth Employment Program, is to encourage teens – especially those from communities historically excluded from STEM opportunities - to pursue higher-level STEM classes in high school, decide to major in STEM fields in college, or otherwise follow a training path that leads to a well-paying career at a local company.

Our public art collection reflects the growth of technology that continues to expand the contemporary artist's palette, which can include different metal alloys, plastics, paint, glass, water, or new media. Through our applied science practice we assist that exploration of new public art materials, and research best conservation materials for treatment and care.

Most library materials are obtainable in alternate formats, such as audio, e-reader, and large print. Monthly home delivery service of library materials is available to Cambridge residents who are unable to visit a library due to short-or long-term disability or infirmity.
