This month's selection: How I Won a Nobel Prize by Julius Taranto. While Collins is closed for construction, this book group will meet virtually and in person at the Boudreau Branch. Please register below if you would like to attend via Zoom. A Zoom link will be sent to all registered participants one hour before the event. Registration is encouraged, but not required. Join herbalist Mo Katz-Christy for a meander through the neighborhood to meet city plants and explore their medicinal uses! We will explore weeds and cultivated plants, trees and shrubs, and have lots of space for questions and conversation. Bring a notebook if you like, and meet us at the Central Square Branch Library. Note this program begins at the library but will then walk throughout the neighborhood -- arriving late may mean you miss the group at the library and will not be able to catch up.

We will adapt the tale "The Tortoise and the Hare" and perform our masterpiece for family and friends. Using a ChompSaw (a kid-safe power tool), participants will safely cut cardboard to create shadow puppets. This four-week puppetry workshop is for youth ages 7-10. We will meet on March 5, 12, 19 and 26. Registration is required. Participants much attend all sessions and have read a version of the tale before the first session. In partnership with Start By Talking, LLC (SBT) and Transition House, the City of Cambridge conducted a needs assessment to evaluate and clarify justice needs for survivors of color who have experienced domestic and gender-based violence.

Install high-visibility markers on fire hydrants around town to increase safety for all residents and reduce response time of the fire department by improving ease of locating hydrants in emergencies, at night, and in the snow.
