The Cambridge Department of Public Works invites you to celebrate “Arbor Week” with a series of events to celebrate Cambridge's Urban Forest.

Participatory Budgeting (PB) is a democratic process that empowers community members through civic engagement to decide how to spend part of a public budget. PB was first developed in Brazil in 1989 and is now used in over 1,500 cities around the world.

The City of Cambridge is currently seeking to fill vacancies on the Commercial Parking Control Committee, Commission on Immigrant Rights and Citizenship and Police Review & Advisory Board. The deadline to apply for each vacancy is August 21.

Building permits are issued by the Inspectional Services Department. Anyone seeking to construct, alter, repair, or demolish a structure must first obtain a building permit.

Cambridge is expanding access to walking, biking, mass transit, and electric vehicles as part of the effort to lower greenhouse gas emissions.

Objection to Nomination Papers Hearing

Do you have an idea of how to activate a Cambridge park or plaza? We are currently looking for local businesses and non-profits to submit proposals for ways to activate public parks and plazas during May - July 2023.

Families with elementary school-age children join us for hands-on activities focused on Science, Technology, Arts, Engineering and Math. Adults and children will learn and play together! In December, Science Heroes will present "Adventure of the Missing Color!" Through hands-on experiments and fun, interactive stories, kids will get excited about the science that’s all around us as we celebrate the scientists who color our world with art! Featuring amazing experiments all about: chemical reactions laws of motion air pressure and more!
