In observance of the Labor Day Holiday on Monday, September 2, City of Cambridge offices, libraries, and senior centers will be closed, and payments will not be required at City of Cambridge parking meters and parking meter pay stations.

This is the third year Cambridge has conducted a City Manager Performance Review, which is an important commitment to transparency and accountability. This next step will be followed by the City Council’s formal evaluation delivered at a Special City Council Meeting in December.

The City of Cambridge is seeking a proven leader who can inspire the confidence of the community and police officers as the city’s Police Commissioner. The successful candidate will have exceptional management skills and a proven record of implementing community-focused solutions to public safety problems, along with a demonstrated ability to interact in a positive and effective manner with a diverse community.

Help us kick off the new school year with CYAS- Cambridge Young Authors' Squad. Young people ages 10 to 14 who love to write are welcome to share their ideas and writing. There will be time for share-outs/workshopping, as well as group or solo writing. Snacks are provided! If you are attending for the first time, registration is helpful, but not required.

Learn to fix your broken household items, such as electronics, appliances, clothing, and toys etc. at the Fixit Clinic. Volunteer Fixit coaches will review, take apart, and assist in repair attempts. Gain the confidence and knowledge to make repairs and teach others to do the same. This event takes place in The Hive, located on L1 of the Main Library. Open to all ages, registration is required. As part of the ongoing redevelopment of the Volpe Parcel, now known as Kendall Common, and of Eversource's Greater Cambridge Energy Project, Broadway will undergo significant traffic and pedestrian changes to support the construction project and establishment of the new substation.
