Description

The Department of Public Works and the MBTA will host a community meeting on Wednesday, February 24th from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at the Rindge Ave Upper School auditorium located at 70 Rindge Ave to discuss path flooding issues on the multi-use path that connects Russell Field to the MBTA’s Alewife Station.

The City of Cambridge and MBTA have been working together to develop a maintenance improvement project to address the issues on this path which is owned and maintained by the MBTA. See reverse side for map and image of flooding.

Come to the meeting to learn more about the path and opportunities for improvements:
• Background of flooding issues
• Overview of the MBTA easement of the path
• Construction challenges associated with this location
• Options evaluated to improve the flooding, including short-term maintenance improvements that have been implemented
• Proposed drainage and path improvements
• Opportunities to improve bicycle and pedestrian sharing of path
• Other opportunities
