Romance Book Group (Main)
This month's book: A Tropical Rebel Gets the Duke by Adriana Herrera Audience: Teens and Adults. If you read romance (or want to start), this group is for you! Reading Interests: This group will explore the burgeoning genre of contemporary romance. Example selections include: Honey and Spice by Bolu Babalola and Mistakes Were Made by Meryl Wilsner. How to get the print book: Copies of the print book are set aside at the Main Library Q&A Desk on the ground floor. Visit the Main Library at 449 Broadway during service hours and a staff member can help you check out a copy. How to get the e-book or digital audiobook: This month’s book is available as an e-book and digital audiobook through Libby. The digital audiobook is also available through Hoopla. Inman Street Reconstruction Project In Person Community Meeting
Inman Street from Hampshire St to Broadway, is included in the City’s Five-Year Plan for sidewalk and street reconstruction. Come join City staff on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 for an In Person Community Meeting.
Fun, Educational Bike Events for Adults
Expand the City’s bike safety education offerings by providing learn-to-bike and beginner urban cycling workshops for adults. More educational opportunities will empower more people to feel safe and comfortable using bikes to get around the city.

Join us for stories, songs and a craft celebrating cats, dogs and less common pets. Recommended for children ages 3-7 and their caregivers.
Sherman Street Drainage Improvements
The Walden Square Inflow and Infiltration (I&I) Project is located in the vicinity of 99 Sherman Street. The City has designated this area for redesign to help reduce the amount of storm water that goes into the city drainage system in order to prevent flooding during heavy rain events. The I&I project at Walden Square encompasses three parcels of land with the first parcel being the surface parking lot at Danehy Park, the second being the roadway at Sherman Street, and the third being the surface lot at the Walden Square Apartments.
Cambridge to Temporarily Switch to MWRA Water
The City of Cambridge will temporarily begin sourcing its water from the Massachusetts Water Resource Authority (MWRA) starting Tuesday, August 30, 2022. The Cambridge Water Department anticipates that the MWRA will exclusively supply all of Cambridge’s public water through the end of the year.
Little Free Libraries (Book Exchanges)
Informal Book Exchanges are already popular in Cambridge on streets and at the Public Works yard. This project would install 13 Little Free Libraries to support literacy, community engagement, and fun throughout the streets of our city.

Harvard Book Store and the Cambridge Public Library welcome Thomas Levenson—professor of science writing at MIT and author of several books, including So Very Small and Einstein in Berlin—for a discussion of his new book, A Pox on Fools: The True Believers, Grifters, and Cynics Who Convinced Us to Reject Vaccines. Registration is required.
