As part of a national celebration of Public Works Week, the Department of Public Works (DPW) Commissioner Kathy Watkins and other City officials recently honored the recipients of the 2025 Commissioner’s Award for Outstanding Performance during a ceremony at the DPW yard. City staff will share plans and present an updated project timeline.

Beginning on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, and continuing through Sunday, September 7, 2025 (excluding Labor Day weekend), the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR), in coordination with the City of Cambridge, will close two travel lanes of Memorial Drive between Hawthorn Street and Gerry's Landing Road to accommodate manhole repair work.
