The City of Cambridge and DivcoWest, the developer of NorthPoint, will be implementing storm water infrastructure improvements on Binney Street. The new drainage system will be installed in Binney Street from Cardinal Medeiros Avenue to the area west of Galileo Galilei Way, through the park area to Broadway. The system will be owned and maintained by the City of Cambridge.

Combine your love for art and Spring, here at the Library! This art class will be a hybrid of indoor and outdoor time. Allowing you to get up close with trees and take artistic observations of your surroundings. All supplies will be provided but please bring any protective gear (hats, sunscreen, water) in the event of hot weather. Registration is required.

This very actively used park lies along Broadway at the intersection with Norfolk Street and is right next to the Area IV Youth Center. The area features multi-purpose playing fields, a playground, water play and basketball courts. One edge of the park was improved in 2010 with a walking path, ornamental fencing, park furniture and landscaping.

Any registered voter can vote early now through Friday, March 1, 2024 at 12 p.m. Unlike Election Day, you are not assigned to a polling location during the early voting period. Being a Firefighter is a noble, rewarding, and exciting profession where you have the opportunity to help people when they are most vulnerable. In addition to firefighting, the job includes a wide variety of skills including emergency medical care, control of hazardous materials releases, protection of the environment, extrication of trapped people (and animals), collapse rescue, water/ice rescue, elevator rescue, public fire education, fire prevention, etc. The deadline to register for the MA Civil Service Firefighter Entrance Examination is 8-27-24.

The Walden Square Inflow and Infiltration (I&I) Project is located in the vicinity of 99 Sherman Street. The City has designated this area for redesign to help reduce the amount of storm water that goes into the city drainage system in order to prevent flooding during heavy rain events. The I&I project at Walden Square encompasses three parcels of land with the first parcel being the surface parking lot at Danehy Park, the second being the roadway at Sherman Street, and the third being the surface lot at the Walden Square Apartments.
