The Housing Department works to promote and maintain the socioeconomic diversity of the city by managing and implementing the City’s efforts to meet the housing needs of low-, and moderate-, and middle-income residents, and develops initiatives to preserve and expand the City's stock of affordable rental and homeownership housing.

The Cambridge Public Health Department encourages residents to protect themselves and others by staying up-to-date on COVID vaccinations, wearing masks indoors when outside their own home, and keeping spaces well-ventilated.
The Foundry Building Receives Awards for Adaptive Reuse and Historic Renovation
The City of Cambridge announced today that The Foundry building has received two new prestigious awards. Over the last week, The Foundry was recognized with a 2023 Built Design Excellence Award for Adaptive Reuse from the Boston Society for Architecture (BSA) and a 2023 Brick in Architecture Best in Class Award for Historic Renovation from the Brick Industry Association (BIA).

Because communities of faith and faith-based organizations are an integral part of our communal lives, the Peace Commission works with congregations and faith communities in Cambridge on issues of peace, social justice and community building, providing a bridge to city government and creating greater understanding and connections among them.
