Scam Notification: Toy Poodles for Sale
The scammers have reportedly been placing flyers on vehicles throughout the region, including earlier this week in Cambridge, indicating that eight-week toy poodle puppies – fully vaccinated and registered with all documents – were listed for sale for $1,000. It has been determined that dogs are not being sold through the listed phone number and that this is an attempt to extort people.

Be Aware of COVID-19 Vaccine Fraud and Scams
With the widespread concern about finding and getting a vaccine, some scammers are looking for ways to steal money and gather personal information that can be sold for profit. While we are not aware of any vaccine-related scams that have victimized residents in Cambridge, there are reports of scammers taking money in exchange for fake COVID-19 vaccine reservations around the country.

Linocut Printmaking (Central Square)
In this class students will be introduced to the printmaking process of linocut. The class will cover techniques in carving linoleum, composition, ink mixing, and printing. At their own pace students will learn how to create a design and carve it in linoleum using carving tools. Students will learn how to ink and print their linoleum blocks by hand. In a relaxed and welcoming environment students will create many beautiful prints of their own as well as collaborate with their classmates. This class is suitable for beginners and can be adjusted for all levels of experience. This class is taught by Brooke Lambert, a professional printmaker and painter. She holds a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design and shows her work widely in New England, New York, and beyond. Brooke works in Studio 291 at Western Avenue Studios & Lofts in Lowell, MA. She is currently represented by The Society of American Graphic Artists in New York, NY, Galaray House in Boston, MA and Bay View Artisan Gallery in Meredith, NH. Brooke is sponsored by Akua Inks and Speedball Art Products. She has fourteen years of teaching experience and currently teaches adult art workshops and holds artist demos at several locations in New England.

Join us for this special summer reading edition of a fun, interactive, activity-based American Sign Language lesson, including: Everyday communication signs (greetings, help, common phrases, fun "Plant a seed, read!" summer reading themed signs) How to respectfully and effectively interact with Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals Basic expressive communication using facial expressions and body language How to navigate simple real-life scenarios using ASL Inclusive communication strategies that can be used immediately The session also includes: Silent communication challenges Interactive group practice Engaging sign language games This program is recommended for participants ages 10 and up. Funding for Summer Reading has been generously provided by the City of Cambridge, Cambridge Public Library Foundation, Friends of the Cambridge Public Library and Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.
