With temperatures expected to rise into the upper 80s this week, the City of Cambridge is excited to welcome the return of waterplay season! Waterplay features at many neighborhood parks and playgrounds are now open for the summer and offer a fun, free way for kids to cool off and stay active.

Celebrate Jasmine Warga's new book, The Unlikely Tale of Chase and Finnegan, about an unlikely friendship between a cheetah and a rescue dog who are paired as an animal ambassador team at a zoo — at this special event with Mass Audubon! Meet local wildlife ambassadors and discover the amazing adaptations that help them survive in the wild. Ask questions and learn what you can do to protect the wildlife of Cambridge. Recommended for children ages 6 and up. This event is part of a special series promoting our 2026 Curious George Lecture (CGL) with Jasmine Warga, award-winning author of A Rover's Story, Other Words for Home, and many other popular children's books. Property owners/residents are responsible for removing all snow and ice from sidewalks and accessible ramps next to their property following a storm per City Ordinance. Ice needs to be removed within 6 hours from the time it forms, and snow needs to be removed within 12 hours after snow stops falling during the day and before 1 p.m. if it snowed during the night, per City Ordinance. The fine for failing to comply with the City’s sidewalk clearance ordinances is $50/day for each day of non-compliance. Here are some helpful tips to follow.

Early voting is an opportunity to vote before Election Day. Any registered voter in Cambridge can vote during the early voting period, from Saturday, August 27th through Friday, September 2nd. Unlike Election Day, you are not assigned to a polling location. You can go to any of the Cambridge Early Voting Locations.
