Celebrate Black Joy and Black Excellence as a part of Cambridge Wide Juneteenth Celebrations!

On Saturday, June 18 at Green-Rose Heritage Park and along Harvard St. between Windsor and Moore Sts, enjoy the following events:

12:00 - 1:00 PM: Yoga with Malaika in the Park (bring your own mats)

1:00 - 2:00 PM: Story Telling Theme: Joy in a historic Black Church in Cambridgeport. Black History in Action for Cambridgeport (BHAC) is a nonprofit devoted to the restoration, historical documentation, and revitalization of St. Augustine’s African Orthodox Church at 137 Allston Street. At this event, we share with you a historical photograph of Black joy found in the basement of the church. We share some of the stories of the photo with you, based on oral histories with members of the church community.

2:00 - 5:00 PM: Black Business Fair. Celebrate black owned businesses, including food from Cambridge's own Pull Up Truck!

If you have any questions about these events, please contact Pardis Saffari at psaffari@cambridgema.gov or Gigi Laurent at glaurent@margaretfullerhouse.org.
