The Cambridge Community Development Department has launched its initial version of the Envision Cambridge Dashboard. This interactive tool shows the progress Cambridge has made since the plan was released in 2019. To date, 73% of the short-term actions are in progress.

“This progress is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and collaboration of City staff and our residents,” said City Manager Louis A. DePasquale. “Since the Envision Cambridge citywide plan was finalized, the City has increased funding and opportunities to incentivize affordable housing, completed the Resilient Cambridge Plan, begun updating its Open Space Plan, changed zoning to expand opportunities for retail and microenterprises, and exceeded our tree planting targets - all in line with the plan’s goals.”

The Envision Cambridge Dashboard is a progress report on the status of the actions and indicators recommended in the plan. City staff will update reporting for the indicators on an ongoing basis, and residents are encouraged to view the dashboard, available at www.cambridgema.gov/Envision.

“We’re pleased to share the Envision Cambridge Dashboard with the community. It shows the tremendous strides we’ve made toward realizing our collective vision for the future,” said Assistant City Manager for Community Development, Iram Farooq. “This plan was a culmination of three years of extensive community engagement and was above all designed to be a living document. This new dashboard provides a transparent look at how far we’ve come in a few short years, while also showing us how far we need to go. It allows us to pinpoint areas for improvement and course correct where needed.”

Envision Cambridge is a roadmap to a sustainable, inclusive, and connected Cambridge. It provides an action plan across six planning topics: climate, housing, economy, mobility, urban form, and community wellbeing. The plan identified the following core values: livability, diversity & equity, economic opportunity, sustainability & resilience, community health & wellbeing, and learning. The goal is to build a future in line with the community’s values.
