The “Getting to Net Zero” Task Force will advise the City Manager on ways to advance the goal of putting Cambridge on the trajectory towards becoming a “net zero community”, with focus on carbon emissions from building operations.

Celebrate back-to-school in style by making Perler bead pins and bag charms! All materials are provided. Recommended for ages 6 and up with a caregiver. This program can accommodate 12 beaders and their caregiver. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis on the day of the program. This program starts promptly and any unclaimed seats will be offered to someone waiting.

Expand the City’s bike safety education offerings by providing learn-to-bike and beginner urban cycling workshops for adults. More educational opportunities will empower more people to feel safe and comfortable using bikes to get around the city.

Learn how set up your smartphone (iPhone or Android), how to adapt your phone to your needs (brightness, font size), common gestures and symbols and how to connect to the internet. This class will be delivered by a DOORS program instructor. The Community-Wide GHG Inventory helps the City of Cambridge benchmark community-wide emissions, and provides a necessary foundation that enables Cambridge to track progress towards emission reduction goals, and engage specific market sectors in actions to reduce emissions.

Come to the Library to create something special! Use your own supplies or try out our equipment! You can use our 1-inch button maker, 2.5 inch button maker, 3-D Doodle pens, or Janome sewing machines. The Library will provide basic supplies. This drop-in program is for people who feel comfortable using these machines on their own. The Library will not provide instruction. Anyone wishing to use the sewing machines must have completed a Sewing 101 training through the Library. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
