Danehy’s signage can be confusing. Fitness stations are hard to find and people work out on benches. The City will improve fitness options for adults, add seating in the dog park, and revamp signage to show everybody what Danehy has to offer.

The City of Cambridge commissioned this study to develop data and to develop strategies. At the highest level, the goal was to develop a full and clear understanding of all problems affecting residents’ ability to obtain and effectively use broadband—and to suggest a range of solutions. This study does not presuppose what the problems are or what the solutions should be. This study is about digital inclusiveness, or what the City of Cambridge has called “digital equity.”

Using 30 languages represented in Cambridge, the new Welcome poster states, “You are welcome here,” and was woven together in a quilt-like design to represent the City’s rich cultural diversity. It also contains text to remind community members of their right to receive services and information in their preferred language, regardless of their immigration status. We encourage you to display this poster in a public-facing area of your department, like a reception desk. The poster is intended to convey solidarity with our immigrant community members visually. It can also be used as a tool for visitors to indicate the language they prefer to communicate in, which will help City staff coordinate appropriate interpretation or translation follow up.

The CLC’s High School Equivalency (HSE) Credential Program helps students prepare to take their GED or HiSET test. After passing one of these tests, students earn their High School Equivalency (HSE) Credential. Students need to pass several subject tests to earn their HSE Credential. Passing the math part of the HSE exam is a big obstacle for many of our students.

The integration of these new ebikes is expected to grow the overall Bluebikes fleet to 5,000 bikes across 500 regional stations by next summer.

This Month's Read: The Curse of Chalion by Lois McMaster Bujold Reading Interests: The group concentrates on science fiction and fantasy. An advanced reading schedule is published each fall. Example selections include: Neuromancer by William Gibson and The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch. Requirements: A love of speculative fiction and a desire to talk about books. Is it true the book is always better? Join our new book club at the O'Connell Branch to delve into this question! Each month we will read a book selection with a movie adaptation, and discuss the relationship between the two and the merits and/or drawbacks of each. The Reel Reads book club will meet the first Tuesday evening of each month at the O'Connell Branch Library on 48 Sixth St. For our inaugural meeting in May, we will be discussing Forrest Gump by Winston Groom, and the 1994 film of the same name.
