Stop by the Boudreau Branch after school and use our two button makers to create your very own buttons. Draw a beautiful picture or print out an image from the computer (once per attendee) to use. This drop-in event is intended for school aged children and their families.

Celebrate the coming Lunar New Year and bring some light to the dark winter by learning the art of tissue paper collage! Make a paper lantern or sun catcher to bring home. All materials are provided. Recommended for ages 5 and up. Registration is not required for this event.

January 2026 classes will be held at Saint James Church, 1991 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA 02140 due to repairs to the O'Neill Branch Library. Join us for an English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Class. This class will be taught at an intermediate level. No testing is needed.

Think more deeply about your community's symbols and better understand why our state flag must be changed. This discussion is inspired by the Massachusetts Seal, Flag, and Motto Advisory Commission’s open call to artists, historians, educators, students, and members of the public to participate in the effort to redesign the state’s seal, flag, and motto. Established by the Legislature in 2024, the Commission is tasked with developing and recommending new symbols to represent the state through a statewide public process. The Conservation Commission is responsible for administration of the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act (WPA), a state law governing activities in and immediately adjacent to local wetlands, waterways and floodplains. The Commission holds two regularly scheduled public meetings each month to review permit applications under the WPA, issue permits and conduct other business related to the management of Cambridge’s natural resource areas.

The Cambridge community is invited to join Cambridge Little League and Scout members in the decoration of veterans’ graves with flags on Saturday, May 24, at 10 a.m., at Cambridge Cemetery, 76 Coolidge Avenue.

As part of the ongoing Homeownership Program Review process, the Housing Division is inviting current owners of affordable homes to attend an information and feedback session. These meetings are being held to provide an overview of the proposed recommendations to some of the program terms, including the way units increase in value and whether units can be passed through inheritance.

The City of Cambridge will renovate Rafferty Park in the Cambridge Highlands neighborhood. The design and community engagement process will begin in early 2024, and construction is anticipated to begin in 2025.

The Cambridge Community Development Department is inviting income eligible Cambridge residents are to apply for the Resident Bike Lottery Program from March 10 – March 30, 2025. Residents can apply for a voucher to buy a new bicycle from a participating bike shop. Applicants can apply for a voucher for a pedal bike (up to $800), e-bike (up to $2,000), or an e-cargo bike (up to $3,000). Residents with a chronic disability can apply for a customized adaptive bicycle or electric wheelchair attachment (up to $3,000).
