The Community Development Department and Homeowner’s Rehab, Inc. (HRI) are pleased to share a video celebrating Cambridge’s most recently completed affordable housing development, Finch Cambridge. Finch Cambridge is the largest new construction of 100% affordable housing development in the city in more than 40 years. Located in the Cambridge Highland neighborhood, this 98-unit apartment building was completed in 2020 and is now fully occupied.  There are 1, 2, and 3-bedroom apartments at Finch, all which are permanently affordable to low, moderate, and middle-income households.  Designed to meet Passive House standards, the highest energy-efficiency and sustainability standards, Finch is an ultra-energy-efficient, Passive House–certified building is designed to provide a healthy living environment for its residents.

The video, Welcome to Finch Cambridge: A 100% Affordable Passive House Building, features former City Manager Rich Rossi and Iram Farooq, Assistant City Manager for Community Development.  They explain how Finch Cambridge contributes to the city’s goal to provide affordable housing options and a sustainable, energy efficient, and resilient building environment for city residents.

Due to COVID-19 and safety precautions, HRI was unable to host an in-person grand opening celebration with the City and other partners upon building completion.  This video, produced by Cambridge Community Television (CCTV),  provides an opportunity to showcase Finch Cambridge to the public.
