New Lease Rent Relief Grant Application Re-Opens

28-30 Wendell Street
Homeowner's Rehab, Inc. (HRI), a local non-profit affordable housing provider, purchased 30 Wendell Street, a current tennis court, from Lesley University in November 2023. Located in the Baldwin neighborhood, the site is in close proximity to the amenities of the Massachusetts Avenue corridor, including shops, restaurants, and public transportation. HRI is planning to create new affordable rental housing on the property under the provisions of the Affordable Housing Overlay (AHO).

12-14 Laurel Street
12-14 Laurel Street is a 2.5-story duplex in Cambridgeport between Central Square and the Charles River. The property is owned by a non-profit who is donating the 4,573 square foot site to Just A Start (JAS) to create permanently affordable ownership housing. The existing building will be demolished and replaced with a new, expanded building with a similar façade design. The project will proceed as-of-right under the AHO.

1826 and 1840 Massachusetts Avenue
Just A Start Corporation (JAS), a local non-profit affordable housing provider, purchased 1826 and 1840 Massachusetts Avenue, two surface parking lots, from Lesley University in late November 2024. Located in the Neighborhood Nine neighborhood, the site is in close proximity to the many amenities of Porter Square including restaurants, retail and the MBTA station. JAS is planning to create new affordable housing at the sites under the provisions of the Affordable Housing Overlay (AHO).

ARPA Grant Reimburses Cambridge Businesses and Non-Profits for New Energy Efficient Equipment and Operations
