The Community Development Department (CDD) is the planning agency for the City of Cambridge. CDD includes five programmatic divisions - Community Planning, Economic Development, Environmental and Transportation Planning, Housing, and Zoning and Development - that work to enhance the character and diversity of the city's neighborhoods, preserve and create affordable housing, promote accessible and sustainable mobility, build environmental resilience, and foster economic vitality.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Please beware of scam emails. The City of Cambridge has learned of a new email scam. These emails claim to be from City staff such as Melissa Peters (Assistant City Manager for Community Development), Jeff Roberts (Director of Zoning and Development), and/or the Planning Board, and request wire transfer payments related to permits. The City of Cambridge does not request payment by wire transfer. If you get a message that seems like it is from the City asking for a payment, please contact our Zoning team before following any instructions at cddzoning@cambridgema.gov or 617-349-4600.
